Finn came into my life while I was thinking about retiring my first SAR dog. I want to thank Laura Barmore of Summers Shenandoah Labradors for giving me this amazing dog. He is my once in a lifetime dog, my heart dog. Competing to the top in AKC obedience by getting his Utility Dog title and then getting his JH late in life. In his SAR career, he has taken me places I never thought I’d go. He and I went to New Orleans after Katrina to help with body recovery, multiple cold cases, lost hikers, hunters and children. This past summer (August 2009) he and I went to the jungle of Guyana, South America to look for a plane that went missing in November 2008. Finn is everything I could have asked for and more. Even at 9 years old he still can out work the young dogs on my search team.
